Medieval Return

A return to the medieval (a necessity), a time before machines.
Breed horses and Airedale guard dogs, homing pigeons. Learn how to mill flour.
Barricade. Develop skills with the crossbow and the catapult.
Cultivate independence thru interdependence.

I write these words in this place, Riverine - on the edge of the human world -
this place (which itself might not be far enough removed), but it will have to do for now.
Next step, once the arcologies here are in place, will be to build clandestine encampments
north thru the wild country to the JamesBay coastlands 300km away.
Peace then. (Firewood is in, solar panels are functioning. Left to do is a winter cache of preserved food to get.).

Human Systems as Earth-Works, as Land-Art. Thinking of the waterway, the gravelpath, the roadway to and past the creek. (2009-12-02)   Thoughts return to the roadway, the North\South access road, and to its creation: gravel, bulldozer, drainage pipes in the swampy zones, digging out a creek bed (from the seasonal waterway that it now is), collecting the millenia-rich silt that has accumulated, and with it, building up the gardens that will line the waterway on  both sides. Stocking the creek with fish.     To then working our way north, past the creek and the future north lots, to the great field-that-will-be on the eastside of the roadway, with its dark, rich soil, bordering the bogland, which itself borders the small lake on the public-land to the east of the arcology. That great field will be cleared of the young, post-disturbance (post-clearcut) plant-growth using a bulldozer: embanking the field along the eastern, southern and northern borders (as fire protection), then to do an initial planting of 'green manure' to further enrich the soil.      This area would then become our first great garden site, with rotating crop and pasture zones. Another option apart from using a bulldozer, is to have a herd of goats to clear the greenery. After they have eaten their way through the brush, the humans would go in with portable cutters. Bigger trees that had been left behind by the loggers (years ago, before I purchased landrights), or those felled by windfall, could be moved by horse team. This approach would be more labour intensive, yet less damaging to the soil structure.

Unfoldings\\Les dévoilements

Considering architecture, pathways, unfoldings: envisioning a gravel pathway from the entrance (campsite) through the trail that leads to the encampments - demarcated, dense, solid, permanence. Above the entrance to the pathway (where the blue stakes are) would rise two poles on either side. Connecting them, above, would be signage: BenedictionCorporation.

Concernant l'architecture, les sentiers, les dévoilements: l'envisagement d'une voie en gravier - de l'entrée (le site d'accueil) traversant le sentier en direction vers les campements - délimité, dense, solide, une permanence. Au-dessus de l'entrée - direction Nord - l'ascension de l'emblème: BenedictionCorporation.

BeneCorpo at Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition 2009

Hope to see people come out to the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition (TOAE) on Friday, July 10th to Sunday, July 11th, 2009. BeneCorpo is presenting our costume-based, interactive portraiture photobooth again this year. We are located at Booth #711 in the photography section\colour: purple (along Bay Street side of Nathan Phillip Square). 

This year, we will be offering on-site prints available at prices starting at $25 per print. \\ On espère voir tout le monde au Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition (TOAE) - le vendredi, samedi, dimanche, 10, 11, 12 juillet, 2009. BeneCorpo présente, encore cette année, notre "baraque-photo" interactive, basée dans le costume et l'art du portrait. Nous sommes à la baraque numéro 711, dans la section de la photographie\couleur: violet (le long de la rue Bay à Nathan Phillip Square) (l'Hôtel de ville de Toronto). Cette année, nous offrons des épreuves photographiques (de 25$ l'épreuve).
